Pastor Joseph Wilkerson, Jr., MDiv, MBA
Senior Pastor, Peace Missionary Ministries
Pastor Joseph Wilkerson, Jr. is a dynamic and Spirit-led servant leader, called to preach, teach, and shepherd God’s people with clarity, conviction, and compassion. With a life rooted in faith from an early age, Pastor Wilkerson accepted Christ at the age of nine and answered the call to ministry at sixteen. Since that time, he has devoted his life to the proclamation of the Gospel and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
In 2026, Pastor Wilkerson was called to serve as Senior Pastor of Peace Missionary Ministries, where he leads with a vision centered on spiritual growth, biblical literacy, and community transformation. His preaching is both exegetically sound and Spirit-empowered, bridging theological depth with practical application for everyday life. He is passionate about equipping believers, developing leaders, and cultivating a church that is both rooted in truth and relevant to the needs of today’s generation.
Prior to this appointment, Pastor Wilkerson faithfully served at the Sanctuary of Faith and Glory Church in Windsor, Connecticut, under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Felton O. Best. During his tenure, he held several key leadership roles, including Pastoral Teaching, Chair of the Ministerial Board, and Trustee Board Officer. In these capacities, he trained ministers, led Bible study initiatives, provided pastoral care, and helped guide the church through seasons of growth and transition.
In addition to his pastoral work, Pastor Wilkerson is a respected executive leader and administrator. He serves as the Chief Operations & Compliance Officer at Hartford Communities That Care, where he oversees organizational strategy, compliance, human resources, and program operations. He also holds a leadership role at Eversource Energy, where he manages complex project controls and resource management initiatives. His ability to merge strategic leadership with pastoral sensitivity uniquely positions him to lead both in the church and in the marketplace.
Pastor Wilkerson is also committed to academic excellence and theological formation. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Springfield College, graduating Summa Cum Laude, a Master of Divinity from Moody Theological Seminary, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Duke University School of Divinity. In addition, he has recently been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT, where he contributes to the academic and spiritual development of students through higher education.
A visionary leader with over a decade of ministry and executive experience, Pastor Wilkerson is known for his strong commitment to discipleship, leadership development, and missional outreach. His ministry is marked by a deep love for people, a passion for teaching God’s Word, and a desire to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Above all, Pastor Wilkerson treasures his family. He is married to his wife of 11 years, Latesha, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and together they are raising their two children, Bria and Joseph III, in a Christ-centered home built on faith, love, and purpose.
Pastor Wilkerson lives by the mandate of Luke 14:23, to “go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled,” and remains committed to building a ministry that reaches, restores, and equips people for a life fully devoted to Christ.
